A Sport or Not A Sport?

Not. My proof: you have to get up at 6am on a Saturday to go watch it, and while you are there you have to whisper.

Shhh! Don't tell my in-laws who just took Gary there for the day that I said that.

Speaking of sports, the Mavs are really trying to drag this out, aren't they?

While not the most interesting sport to watch it's definitely one of the more admirable. Unlike the NHL, these competitors have to show up, play, and do well in order to see some good money.

At least it has definite rules and isn't a judged contest, so it beats things like figure skating.

On the other hand, it doesn't require a whole lot of athleticism as evidenced by the fact that 50 year olds can compete with men in their upper 20's.

I suppose playing golf might not be so bad, but it makes a dreadful spectator sport, IMO. But there must be tons of people who do like to watch it because last weekend the Byron Nelson Tournament was sold out, so they couldn't go then.
